Dear Valued Customers,
Welcome to the Second Edition of the Winechek Newsletter in July 2025 called Precision Matters.
We created this newsletter to keep you in the loop on all things analytical that impact the quality of your product and efficiency of your processes. Whether you’re a seasoned expert or just curious, we’ll bring you valuable insights, new resources on the website, and helpful content—straight to your inbox.
What to Expect
As we process all the findings from AWITC and head into blending and stabilisation season we are as grateful as ever for our customers and support in our local regions. We have invested in each of our sites to improve the service to our customers and always welcome feedback about how we can best support our customer base.

Winechek LIMS will now provide online access to results for all customers upon request Australia wide from August 2025. This is designed to provide not only an additional level of service but a resource for clients to maintain an analysis data base. Please contact your local laboratory to request online access.

We are beyond excited to launch customised software for our Absorbance One unit to be used with a laptop. No more is there a requirement for a calculation spreadsheet or test kit sheets - it is now all incorporated into the Software developed by Vintessential test kits and Byonoy.
Vintessential test kits, The Winery Pro Autoanalyser and portable Absorbance one spectrophotometer were featured at the AWITC conference, as presented by our very own Technical Manager Dr Carly Gamble and Operations Manager Dr Alana Seabrook. We were lucky enough to present at our national distributor stand run by Rowe scientific.

To understand more about our Vintessential test kits for SO2 analysis check out our poster from AWITC 2025 on SO2 measurement with the Absorbance one with recent Interwinery analysis (IWAG) samples.

What does it mean and what are some of the analytical consequences?
For winemakers that are looking to produce a quality product with minimal intervention, there are a number of factors to consider. A scientific understanding of the impact of grape conditions, juice chemistry, microbial variation, fermentation and temperature will allow a winemaker to determine when intervention is more desirable than the alternative risk.
